To Whom it may concern:
On January 6, 1997 I was in Good Samaritan Hospital, Johnstown, Pa
being treated for a urinary tract infection.
During a routine blood test, the Doctor discovered I had prostate
cancer. At that time (the initial blood test) My P.S.A. was 30. My doctor
referred me to a urologist for further testing.
Between January 6 and March I have had three additional tests,
including a bone scan at the Gleason test.
The Gleason test result was 10, the highest on the scale. The urologist
told me that meant the cancer was erractic and that if had metastasized, was inoperable.
He also told me that it was growing at a very rapid rate.
The bone scan revealed cancer in both knees, both hips, both shoulders,
six ribs, my upper right arm, and lower left leg. It had also spread into my lymph system
to the point where I had difficulty breathing. The pains in my joints and bones were
almost unbearable.
I took one (prescribed prostate cancer treatment) Lupron Depot
treatment and the supplemental treatment nitandrin (?) 300 Mg a day for two weeks. I was
supposed to take that dosage for 90 days. Then have the dosage adjusted at my next office
visit. I quit the format treatment six days before Easter 1997. (I had never been so sick
in my life.)
My first cousin and very close friend, (Lou) had heard of my illness
and introduced me to Km at the same time I quit the prescribed treatment.
By Holy Saturday the nausea was gone and my strength was beginning to
return. (four days into the program). Pain in my bones and joints were diminishing. The
progress of my recovery was miraculous.
At the time I had the prescribed treatment Lupron Depot Treatment, the
urologist stated that I would see no improvement in my condition for the first 90 days.
If anything, my PSA would likely go up... At best there may be a reduction of 10 to
15 points at the end of a year. That means that Jan 6, 1998 the best I could expect
my P.S.A. to be would be 15. My wife was present with me in his office at the time of this
statement.
I had a second P.S.A. done the third week of May, 1997 (90 days after
the urologist said my P.S.A. would likely go up.
The results of the P.S.A. 3rd week of May, 1997 was zero point one. The
doctors couldn't believe it... I had a third P.S.A. done mid July 1997 at a different lab.
The results PSA less then zero point two... A fourth P.S.A. was done at the same lab that
performed the first two the first week of October '97. The results P.S.A. were zero point
five.
I am writing this testimonial November 4, 1997. The pain in my joints
are gone... The pains in my bones are gone. My breathing is almost normal, and my strength
continues to improve daily. My cancers are in remission.
By the hand of God and His bounty...Km
